Will Foster

I’ve been an illustrator for over 20 years having come from a fine art background. As part of my Salisbury based role I use my wide ranging experience of all aspects of graphics to prepare artefact illustrations, report drawings, outreach materials, designs for exhibition spaces and displays, publication graphics and reconstructions. I also carry out image restorations, desktop publishing and image manipulation.

As an experiences 3D artist, I use a variety of software to create innovative outputs for heritage interpretation installations. From digital reconstructions, and 3D prints for handling collections, to virtual collections captured using Structured Light Scanning and Photogrammetry to create interactive models for: touchscreens, online collections, and hologram displays. 

I am motivated by a desire to make my work as clear and accessible as possible while retaining an element of design.

When I’m not at work, I add to my growing book collection at home which threatens the structural integrity of our house.
